Every year, the CDC takes part in the creation of new works by means of “co-productions”.
It consists of a financial contribution for the creation of a show. Thereby, the CDC makes a commitment to companies by contributing to the financing of their creation.
Co-production can as well consist of a financial contribution in terms of « industry » or « in kind », meaning that the CDC makes staff or technical means available for the conception of the supported artistic project. The In Vivo operation and the lending of the CDC studio for working sessions are examples of these two types of co-production.

Most of the time, a co-production goes with a preferential price for one or more representations of the co-produced show, which is a way of reinforcing the commitment: the co-producer can thereby promote the birth of a project as well as its diffusion to the public.

For the CDC, co-production is therefore a way of encouraging the development of the contemporary choreographic creation by redistributing a part of the support it gets from the local authorities. The choice of the co-produced projects is based on criteria corresponding to the overall artistic policy of the CDC.
