This season was marked by the festival, powerful moment in Toulouse and some other places in the Region. As far as training is concerned, a new educational program more open to the local artists has been implemented.

We want to remind that the festival’s aim is to recentre the CDC’s identity on an event bearing its name and artistic imprint. This new edition, characterised by quality and eclecticism, brought together reference figures of international contemporary dancing and less known choreographers which works deserve to be discovered.

In partnership with the TNT, Alain Platel of the famous Ballets C. de la B. presented his latest creation vsprs, and the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon was invited with the Limb’s Theorem program of William Forsythe.

Two immense French female artists, Régine Chopinot and Maguy Marin, joined up the program at the Théâtre Garonne and in Tarbes, while as Boris Charmatz presented what’s being considered as the last representations of Regi with Julia Cima and Raimund Hoghe.

Three troupes of the region: Cave Canem/Philippe Combes, Samuel Mathieu and the Zampa presented their latest creation thereby finalising the support given by the CDC for two years.

This year, the festival extends to the Grand sud-ouest (overall French south-west area):
- The Parvis de Tarbes for the double program of Maguy Marin Umwelt and May B
- The ADDA du Tarn in Albi for Nevermind by Daniel Larrieu
- Hooman Sharifi at L’Estive de Foix.

Eventually, the interregional exchange dynamics found its achievement with the Office Artistique de la Région Aquitaine in a day of preview, the 31rst of January, in which 3 companies of the region participated.

During the 2006/2007 season, the CDC proposed a larger choice of offers. Indeed, as far as the professional training Extensions is concerned, numerous choreographers are invited each year to share, transmit, experience their knowledge with the trainees. For the time being, only a dozen of persons can enjoy this privileged time. And from now on, the number of “permanent” trainees is reduced in order to give “non-permanent” dancers, i.e. those who register from time to time, the opportunity to register according to their training needs.

In 2007, many exchanges with schools have taken place which allowed a true integration of CDC’s artistic education into the educational programs.
A pairing agreement signed with the Collège des Chalets enabled pupils of this school to follow a creation process, to attend shows of the Festival “C’est de la danse contemporaine”, to meet choreographic artists and to attend a conference on the history of dancing. A partnership agreement has been signed with the Lycée St Sernin for the creation of a Dance optional course which started in September 2006. The CDC will share its experience in choreographic knowledge. An agreement has been signed with the ESAV (Ecole supérieure d’audiovisuel) regarding the themes dance and images.
The Department of Etude Théâtrale of the Université de Toulouse Mirail, as part of its course on show analysis, will attend the representation of May B by Maguy Marin.

Thereby, the CDC sticks to its objective of enlargement of the public sphere.
